Grieving Midlothian mum “overwhelmed” by community support

A HEARTBROKEN Midlothian mum who lost her baby at just 15 weeks old has spoken of the “overwhelming” support offered by her local community.

Described as her “miniature superhero”, Helen Kennan’s son Haydon was born 10 weeks’ premature, and despite a brave fight for life, died on April 6 at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

Gorebridge Parish Church was packed to capacity for his funeral service seven days later.

Helen, who lives with her husband James at 2 Hunter Square, Gorebridge, told the Advertiser: “Burying our boy was the worst day of our lives, but the support we received from the community was overwhelming.
