Group praised for Midlothian river rescue

a man and woman from Midlothian have received police meritorious awards in recognition of their roles in saving a drowning dad.

He had been watching an amateur football match in Ironmills Park and then took Bobo for a stroll through the woods when the two-year-old disappeared.

The roofer risked his own life by jumping in after the 10-stone pet and then needed rescuing himself.
