A MIDLOTHIAN church, a bookies and a garden centre all have something in common. The three are some of the venues taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning tomorrow (Friday).

The leading cancer charity, which is celebrating its centenary, is calling on local people to raise £15,000 towards the £8.5 million target to support vital cancer services.

Last week, 10-month-old Minnie Large crawled into a giant tea cup to launch what is expected to be Midlothian’s biggest coffee morning at Dobbies Garden Centre, Lasswade. Dobbies has pledged to donate 5p for every hot drink sold on September 30. Customers can also guess the weight of a specially-baked cake from Dobbies’ bakery.

See this week’s Advertiser for details of all the local venues taking part.
