Residents of the communities that use Newbattle Community High School are being asked for their views on the planned new build.

Workshops have already taken place with pupils, parents and other ‘stakeholders’.

Now the general public can have their say in a short online questionnaire, before January’s public consultation meetings in each of the three catchment communities that Newbattle serves.

The full council will meet on February 5 to hear the results. Views will not only inform the design of and facilities contained within the new campus but also where it is located, the impact on existing facilities and possible future links with local businesses and groups. Residents can fill in the survey at www.midlothian.gov.uk/newbattle2016; email suggestions to newbattle.2016@midlothian.gov.uk; and, from December 10, you can send suggestions to Freepost NB SCHOOL 2016. For parents and carers of pupils at Newbattle and its associated primary schools, there is a discussion workshop at the school tonight (Thursday) from 6.30pm - 8.30pm. The public workshops are;

January 15, 6.30 - 8.30pm at Gorebridge Primary School.

- January 16, 6.30 - 8.30pm at the Scottish Mining Museum.

- January 17, 6.30 - 8.30pm at McSence Business Park.
