MIDLOTHIAN residents are being urged to help safeguard adults who may be at risk of harm.

Midlothian Council’s Adult Protection team wants local people to get in touch because the local authority is able to offer assistance to those who may be vulnerable.

Some adults are harmed by people they know and trust, a few are harmed by strangers and some harm themselves.

There are many types of harm, including physical harm where someone is hurt, psychological harm, such as behaviour which causes fear or distress, or financial harm where money or property is involved.
