HMO bid granted at Roslin cottages

House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) status has been extended at cottages in Roslin, despite concerns about antisocial behaviour.

Applicant Neil Brown’s bid to renew his HMO – required where three or more unrelated people live in the same property – at numbers 1-3 Bilston Cottages, was accepted by Midlothian Council’s General Purposes Committee.

The meeting heard that residents living close to the cottages, formerly used as homeless units, had been plagued by littering, verbal abuse and shouting and swearing.
