A MILESTONE year for teen gymnast Holly Ramage, 2011 saw the Haddington lass win her first major silverware since breaking both ankles in a horrific injury.
Overcoming a catalogue of setbacks, Holly (16) defied all the odds by placing second at the Scottish Championships in February. Now she is back in contention for a spot at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Her road to recovery has been testing to say the least. Starting gymnastics at the tender age of four, the promising member of Lasswade Gymnastics Club won a raft of medals and silverware and was tipped for great things.
The first gymnast to be enrolled into the Scottish Institute of Sport, she led the Scotland team to a three -medal haul at the Tourneo Internacional in Madrid in 2007. But disaster struck in August 2008.
