STUDENT vets in Midlothian are being taught diagnostic skills straight from the horse’s mouth.

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at Easter Bush has taken delivery of a life-size teaching model of a horse, the first of its kind in the UK.

The equine colic simulator will allow students to improve their diagnosis of colic, a life-threatening disease that affects many horses.
