Horse mutilated in Midlothian

A HORSE has been found badly mutilated in a field on the Midlothian boundary.

The 23-year-old Icelandic gelding was discovered bleeding heavily at the Swanston Livery Yard on Thursday.

It had been attacked with a sharp, metal instrument.

The horse underwent emergency surgery and is recovering under veterinary supervision.
