The organisers of the annual Midlothian Food and Drink Awards are looking for mystery judges.
The lucky couples selected will visit the finalists in the lunch and dinner categories.
An awards spokesman explained: “In each case they will have a meal without letting the business know that they are monitoring or judging and after each visit they fill in the scoring forms covering all aspects of the food and the service.
“Midlothian Food and Drink will reimburse the cost of the meals.
“They must be able to visit all the businesses over a fortnight long period and as a couple on each occasion. They should have no connection to any of the restaurants shortlisted.”
To enter they should outline in around 250 words how they would identify good food and good service and also what their favourite meal would be. They should also say whether they would prefer to judge lunch or dinner.
Entries to be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Paper entries can be sent to Midlothian Food and Drink, Midlothian Council, Midlothian House, Buccleuch Street, Dalkeith, EH22 1DN. All entries should be received by Friday, April 1.
