It should be a highlight of the local calendar, but Dalkeith Festival “goes on for too long” according to officers who policed this year’s event.
This year’s 50th anniversary event, on August 4, saw attractions taking place during the day and at night and attracted scores of revellers to King’s Park.

Speaking at last week’s meeting of Dalkeith Community Council, Ann Stewart-Kmicha brought the issue of policing at the festival to the attention of the group.
