More than 750 local jobs could be created if the proposed new multi-million pound film studio complex and hotel is built at New Pentland.

It is expected a planning application in principle for the first phase of the scheme will be lodged in the spring.

It is hoped that, if subsequent detailed planning consent is approved, the first phase of the film and television development will be completed in early 2017.

The first phase will include three sound studios, two workshops, a power plant, IT centre and outdoor filming facilities.

Unveiling the £40 million project last week, the developers outlined jobs that could be created if the film studio goes ahead.
