Midlothian junior football crossed the finishing line this week for season 2015 /16 with the playing last night (Wednesday) of the Fife and Lothians Cup final between Bonnyrigg Rose and Penicuik Athletic in Musselburgh .
On Saturday, Penicuik completed their Super League programme with a 3-1 home win over 12th placed Carnoustie Panmure in a boost for the Cuikie anticipating the cup final.
Both Premier League’s Dalkeith Thistle and Arniston Rangers lost their respective final home Premier League games. Arniston 3-2 to newly-crowned Premier League champions Jeanfield Swifts and Thistle to already relegated Thornton Hibs by the same scoreline, leaving Dalkeith in seventh place in the final Premier League table and Arniston fourth.
Easthouses Lily too in the South League finished their debut league season with a home defeat, 3-1 to Rosyth, leaving the Lily in sixth place at the end of their first South League season.
A dramatic final day 2-0 win for Fauldhouse over already relegated St Andrews saw them scrape out of relegation leaving Sauchie to tackle a two-leg play-off with third top of the Premier League Lochee United on Monday and Wednesday evening this week. This Saturday sees the final East Region FA match of the season at neutral Creamery Park, Bathgate, where Bo’ness United meet Dundonald Bluebell in the final of the East of Scotland Cup.
