The Newtongrange Neighbourhood Plan is set to be launched later this autumn – a result of more than a year’s work by Newtongrange residents and community groups, together with the council and other agencies.
The Newtongrange Neighbourhood Plan aims to improve the quality of life for people living in Newtongrange, by addressing a wide range of concerns raised by local residents.
The plan sets out the changes, developments and improvements that residents want to see, along with an action plan to address residents’ concerns.
The plan is being delivered by the Newtongrange Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, which brings together local residents, community groups and the Newbattle Youth Forum along with the council, NHS Lothian and the police.
The Steering Group first met in May 2011 and since then it has held a series of ‘Planning for Real’ consultations.
