An issue for our MSP
I refer to the Advertiser article on April 3 about the planned closure of the “part-time” RBS Branch in the village of Pathhead. As local customers we have already had letters from the bank and taken the opportunity to register our concerns. However, I am a bit confused about our local MSP Colin Beattie’s statement made to the Advertiser: “Unfortunately, banking is a matter which is reserved to Westminster so there is nothing that I, nor the Scottish Government, can do on this particular case”.
Surely this issue is not about the banking industry, but about a particular company and its plans for closure of local branches?
I would have thought that this type of issue is exactly what MSPs are for, along with our local authority elected members?
