Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has donated ten copies of his new cookbook Save with Jamie to Midlothian libraries.

The books were donated by Oliver’s publisher Penguin Random House, in partnership with national charity The Reading Agency. More than 4,000 copies have been donated nationwide.

Midlothian library users will now have the chance to learn recession-busting cooking skills. Councillor Lisa Beattie said: “We are incredibly grateful to Jamie Oliver and his publisher for this very generous gift.

“Having access to free books and reading experiences is vitally important, especially when people are under financial pressure.”

The book aims to help those feeling the pinch to shop smart, cook clever, eat well and waste less.
