Two Midlothian businesses have secured new funding to help them employ more local people over the next three years.
Gorebridge-based Taylor Plant Hire (Scotland) limited and Easthouses firm Graham Schutte Interiors Limited have received loans totalling £35,000 from Midlothian Council to help their businesses develop.
Taylor Plant Hire, based at Castleton Sawmill, currently employs nine people and plans to create three new full-time posts.
The company provides an operated plant hire service for tracked and wheeled excavators, hydraulic breakers and other heavy construction plant.
Established in 2008, the company plans to use the funding to expand into wider geographic markets and invest in additional plant and fleet upgrades.
