Loanhead cadet is flying high

A LOANHEAD Air Cadet is truly on top of the world.

Flight Sergeant Sean Dryden (18) has been chosen as the Lord Lieutenant’s cadet for the county of Midlothian.

The award, presented by Patrick Prenter, recognises the achievements and dedication of cadets from the Army or Air Cader organisations.

Polton teenager Flt Sgt Dryden, a member of the 2466 (Loanhead) Air Cadet Squadron, has enjoyed an excellent year. He was one of the senior ranking NCO cadets on visits to the Royal Air Force Akrotiri in Cyprus and Aldergrove in Northern Ireland. He was also senior cadet NCO on a cultural and educational visit to the Auschwitz extermination camps in Poland.
