Loanhead care home owner offers reassurance

The new owner of a landmark building in Loanhead has sought to reassure worried neighbours over his plans for the former care home.

Joseph Croan-Bee told the Advertiser he was converting Mayburn House, the former Church of Scotland eventide home in Hawthorn Gardens, into a private house.

“At the moment it is a case of just getting in and finding out what damage has been done,” he added.

The property, which closed as a care home in 2008, had been boarded up to prevent further vandalism and theft.
