Lothian and Borders Police has taken delivery of a new sponsored vehicle in support of its ongoing drugs awareness campaign.

Drugs awareness officer PC John Cowan was presented with a new Nissan Note 1.5dci N-tec car at the Straiton-based Alex F Noble Nissan dealership by the dealer principal David Noble.

PC Cowan, who is based at Dalkeith Police Station, uses the vehicle in his day-to-day work raising awareness about drug and alcohol abuse throughout Mid and East Lothian.

PC Cowan said: “The car is essential for my role as divisional drugs awareness officer as it allows me to cover around 1,000 miles a month visiting the 65 primary schools, 13 secondary schools and various other agencies that lie within the area.”
