The future of world-famous sweet manufacturer Ross’s of Edinburgh looks uncertain with the company set to leave Loanhead.
The firm’s premises on Pentland Industrial Estate have been sold and the business is up for sale.
Chairman and managing director Graham Ross told The Advertiser: “Iam retiring. I have sold the premises and the business is now up for sale.
“Whatever happens it will no longer be on this site.
“The business is being offered as a going concern but we have to be out by the end of April.”
Mr Ross (64) added there had been “quite a lot of interest” in the company, which is famous for its Edinburgh Castle Rock, Pan Drops and Butterscotch sweets.
