Loanhead fleet is cut by traffic boss

A LOANHEAD coach company has had its licence curtailed by the Deputy Traffic Commissioner for Scotland.

The number of vehicles on the operator licence for McKendry Coaches was reduced from 10 to eight with effect from April 1.

The six-month censure is because of maintenance shortcomings and a breach of licence conditions.

Mrs Anne Watson McKendry, trading as McKendry Coaches, was called to a public inquiry last month. She holds a standard public service vehicle operators’ licence for 10 vehicles and acts as one of the transport managers.

McKendry Coaches, based at Straiton Road, are used for contract and private hire work, including schools contract with both Edinburgh and Scottish Borders Councils.
