A MIDLOTHIAN community centre manager has earned national recognition for her enterprising business activities.

Irene Hogg, head of establishment at Loanhead Community Learning Centre, was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Business Award at the recent annual awards evening organised by the Association of Scottish Businesswomen.

The award was introduced in 2000 to showcase and celebrate achievement among the female business and professional community in Scotland across all sectors.
