Loanhead poject is starting to grow

SCHOOL pupils have helped elderly residents in Loanhead put the finishing touches to their new garden project.

Trust Housing Association residents at its Hawthorn Gardens development in Loanhead celebrated the opening of a brand new garden project last week.

Beechgrove Garden presenter Carolyn Spray also dropped in to help residents and pupils from Paradykes Primary School pot plants.

The community initiative, which has been set up by Trust Housing Association and Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust (ELGT), successfully brought staff, residents and the whole community together to transform an unused area of land into an oasis of herbs, fruit and vegetables.
