Police Scotland’s call centre in Loanhead is to be retained as services are streamlined.
Last week Police Scotland announced that six control rooms were to close across Scotland in a bid to save £74 million.
Following the merger of the eight forces last year, the new police service inherited 10 control rooms and nine service centres across 11 sites. The centres handle the calls received from members of the public.
Following a review, Police Scotland is to propose to the Scottish Police Authority its operations would be enhanced by having fewer control rooms.
