P7 pupils from Loanhead Primary have been studying World War Two this term.

As well as a visit from the Danderhall-based Mobile Military Museum, the children also took time to focus on World War One.

Teacher Karen Hinton said: “Pupils have been doing independent research from the Loanhead WW1 war memorial and have chosen names to research. They have taken to social media in the search for information and the response from the public has been fantastic.

“We have produced a Remembrance Tree display showing all the knowledge we have learned about some of the war heroes from Loanhead.”
In addition, the class visited the Lady Haig Poppy Factory to learn about the work of Poppyscotland and held an emotional school remembrance assembly.
