A Loanhead community stalwart has been fronting a new campaign run by the National Lottery Good Causes.
Centre manager Irene Hogg featured for her work in promoting Loanhead Community Learning Centre, which opened the new Kabin building earlier this year.
The £1.2 million Kabin, which opened in May, was developed with the help of a National Lottary grant of almost £600,000.
The campaign, which ran throughout December, celebrates the Change Makers of Scotland – the exceptional people using National Lottery funding to make a positive difference to people, places and the communities they live in.
Irene said: “We asked the community what they wanted and put together a wish list. It included a charity shop, cinema, soft play centre, cafe, community garden, low-cost laundrette, and recording studio for the teenagers – lots of wonderful ideas.
“It took years in the planning but I’m so delighted with what we have here. We’ve been able to provide nearly everything the community has asked for.”
