‘Ace’ the Rosewell RDA horse is honoured
Definition of ACE: expert; very skilled; adept.
No coincidence then, that Ace, a star attraction at Thornton Rose Ride Ability Group and who is all of the above, has been named the British Horse Society Equine Personality of the Year.
Based at the RDA centre in Rosewell, Ace, a 15.2 hands Shire cross Appaloosa, is a very special horse with a big heart and personality. For more than 12 years, he has brought joy and happiness to disabled riders of all ages, helping and teaching them to find a sense of achievement and confidence, which in turn makes their lives easier and more fulfilled.
He had a hard start to life as a logging horse working on the Pentland Hills, but came into his own when he joined the team at Thornton Rose in 1999.
