Anger after rapist re-homed in Dalkeith

Fear and anger spread through Dalkeith town centre this week after it became known that a notorious rapist had been re-housed at Jarnac Court.

Robert Greens (34), dubbed the “Da Vinci Code rapist” has been released from Saughton prison after serving just two-thirds of his sentence.

Greens, from Mayfield, was sentenced to 10 years in jail at the High Court in Glasgow in 2006 for the rape of a 19-year-old Dutch student near Rosslyn Chapel, which featured in the Dan Brown novel and subsequent film, starring Tom Hanks.

The High Court in Glasgow heard how the teenager had been left for dead after she was attacked by Greens.
