Beware of web scam, Midlothian warned
MIDLOTHIAN residents are being warned to be on the look-out for a UK-wide internet scam.
Reports have been received that pop-up windows are appearing on computer screens bearing the logos of Strathclyde Police and the Metropolitan Police
The window states that illegal activity has been detected on the computer – which has been locked – and instructs the user to pay £100 via Ukash to unlock it.
