Louise Dickson is heading to Kilimanjaro to raise 25,000 for her work - charity Carr-Gomm.

A MIDLOTHIAN care worker is hoping to raise money for the charity she works for by climbing the highest free standing mountain in the world.

Louise Dickson (28), from Bonnyrigg, will climb the 5,895 metre high Kilimanjaro next month, along with 20 fellow workers from Carr-Gomm – a charity that provides support in a residential unit or in the home.

Louise, who works at their recovery rehabilitation centre in Newtongrange, said: “We are hoping to each raise £1,000 for the ‘catch the dream’ project which lets people with mental health issues and other disabilities do something they have always wanted to do.

“I’m super-excited and very nervous. I was getting my jags yesterday, so it’s starting to feel real now.
