Children’s Panel needs new members

The Children’s Panel is looking for volunteers from Midlothian to guide children at turning points in their lives.

Panel members must be sympathetic, compassionate, resilient and interested in helping children.

Social work spokesman councillor Jackie Aitchison (Lab) said: “Being part of the Children’s Panel in Midlothian is a good way to put something back into your community, with most of the cases about protecting children from harm in some way.

“Where the case involves the child doing something wrong, you can also help put them back on the right track.

“This might be something you’ve been thinking about for a while, but you’re not sure what’s involved. Why not get in touch for a quick chat, where we can fill in some gaps for you?”
