A BUSY community hall is to close after the trust running it were unsuccessful in securing council-managed funds.

Gorebridge Development Trust manager David Thomas described the closure of the Brown Building on February 27 as “the end of an era”.

He said: “The Brown Building has provided a home for several community groups for whom who we are actively seeking a new home.

“I would like to thank everyone past and present who has contributed to keeping the building open and operational.

“This decision is the end of an era.”
