Dalkeith High, pupils have joined model of United Nations.

For the second year running, Dalkeith High School has taken part in an annual Model United Nations (MUN) conference at George Watsons College in Edinburgh.

A highly diversified activity which follows the pattern of the United Nations, MUN allows pupils to face up to ongoing global issues.

Representing Sweden and Democratic Republic of Congo, 18 delegates from Dalkeith put together briefing papers and resolutions based on current issues.

This year, the conference played host to guest speakers including Amnesty International’s Elspeth McGregor, who spoke about torture, and Keith Aitken, a journalist and broadcaster who spoke about censorship and internet anonymity.
