Jobs lost as Loanhead firm folds

A FLOORING company with a site in Loanhead has gone into administration, leading to the loss of 33 jobs locally.

Stuarts Industrial Flooring, which had a base at Bilston Glen Industrial Estate, appointed administrators on Thursday.

A total of 102 employees at its three sites across the UK were made redundant with immediate effect.

Stuarts, which had been in business for 172 years, also had sites at Tamworth in Staffordshire and at Roecliffe in Boroughbridge.

Six workers, including three in Scotland, have been kept on to help with the winding-down process.
