Loanhead mum's launch of first book

A Loanhead mum of two will officially launch her first novel on Friday August 7.

The release of Stephanie Taylor's book, The Device, the Devil and Me, will be held in Loanhead Library at 7pm. The free event is open to the public.

Stephanie (34) has been a prominent member of the Penicuik Writers' Group since entering the Midlothian and East Lothian Writer of the Year competition two years ago.

Keeping secrets

Since then Stephanie, who lives in Clerk Street with husband Julian (33) and children Sonny (6) and Cohen (3), has been working on her novel, which has taken two years to write and one year to edit.

The Device, the Devil and Me is the story of a woman, who believes that she is possessed by the Devil and how her battle for sanity affects her everyday life.

"It is an exploration of mental illness and how it can affect your life and the effects of keeping secrets," explained Stephanie.

Stephanie has finished her second novel and is currently writing a cartoon.
