Man (21) killed by collision

A man has died following a road collision in Danderhall.

Twenty-one-year-old Luke Coles, from Princes Street, Scarborough, died in hospital on March 7 after being seriously injured in the collision on Old Dalkeith Road three days earlier.

The incident occurred about 100 metres north of the junction with Newton Church Road, at 8.05am.

The road was closed until 11.30am while investigations were carried out at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries have been ongoing to establish exactly what happened and we have spoken to numerous witnesses who were in the area at the time as a result.”
