Midlothian Council accused of wasting time and money over road repairs

Allegations that money has been wasted on ill-thought-out road repairs have led to calls for an investigation of Midlothian Council.

As reported in the Advertiser last week, the logic of re-painting lines on a badly potholed section of Polton Road, between the junction of Elm Row, Lasswade and Dobbies Road, Bonnyrigg, had already been called in to question.

Angry

Now an angry reader has contacted us to say the painted areas have been filled in with tar and will need to be painted again – just a week later.

The resident, who did not wish to be named, said: "They have filled in the areas that were painted – it has wasted money and time, because now they will need to repaint it."
