Midlothian showcased as business tourism destination

CONFERENCE facilities in Midlothian have been showcased at an event aimed at boosting business tourism.

Meet in Midlothian – a Midlothian Tourism Forum led initiative supported by VisitScotland – brought together Newbattle Abbey College, The Scottish Mining Museum and Dalhousie Castle.

Opportunity

Guests at the open evening included Provost Adam Montgomery and representatives of VisitScotland's Business Tourism unit.

The event gave the venues, all within a three-mile radius of each other, the opportunity to promote their facilities and demonstrate how they can meet the needs of a corporate audience.

Committed

Provost Montgomery said: "With our partners in the private sector, we're committed to promoting Midlothian's tourism assets as we play our part in achieving the national expectation of growing revenue from tourism by 50 per cent–in real terms –by 2015."
