MOTORISTS nabbed for illegal use of a road are having their tickets ripped up because of a signage blunder.

Confusion between Midlothian Council and Lothian and Borders Police means that enforcement action has been dropped for drivers caught using the narrow Dryden Terrace/Pentland Road link in Loanhead.

The council has restricted vehicular access to tackle speeding and parking problems. Residents have complained about passing vehicles damaging their cars and problems parking outside their homes.
