MSP backs £10 million funding for Roslin

A MIDLOTHIAN MSP is delighted at the allocation of £10 million to a leading science centre.

Colin Beattie (SNP) said the funding awarded to The Roslin Institute – reported in last week’s Advertiser – was a major boost for the local economy and a pointer to further investment and job creation.

He said a meeting he had with Professor David Hume, the institute director, paved the way for talks with First Minister Alex Salmond.
