MSP breathes easy at lunch
MIDLOTHIAN MSP Rhona Brankin joined members of the Midlothian Breathe Easy group during their Christmas lunch recently.
The support group for local people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) held their annual lunch at The Buccleuch.
Set up by the British Lung Foundation, the group provides support and information to the sufferers of lung disease and their carers.
Ms Brankin said: "I am delighted to be supporting the work of this group. Partly because of our mining history, Midlothian has the highest rates of both hospital admissions and deaths from lung conditions of any part of the Lothian region, so this group is hugely important in terms of providing support and advice for local people coping with a lung condition."
The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at the Old People's Welfare Centre in St Andrew Street, Dalkeith.
