Parking permit scheme could see Midlothian residents charged up to £300 per year

A residents’ parking permit scheme could be introduced in parts of Midlothian.

If given the go-ahead, the project would initially focus on Dalkeith but, if supported by residents, could be extended elsewhere in the county.

The move by Midlothian Council comes in response to complaints from householders that they cannot get parked outside their properties because other drivers are parking cars on residential streets.

Initial indicative costs are likely to vary between £100 and £300 per year.
