Penicuik assault witness appeal

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in Penicuik.

The incident happened between Deanburn and Andrew Court after 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 16.

A 20-year-old man was walking on the grass area when a male approached and attacked him.

The victim suffered serious injuries to his head, back and arms and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

He was released after treatment.

The suspect is described as wearing a black hooded top, black cap, black tracksuit bottoms and had a black scarf covering his face.
