MARATHON champions from a Midlothian school are vowing to defend their title.

Pupils at Cuiken Primary School are raring to run in the junior schools competition of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival.

The Penicuik team, which came out top in races involving 85 schools and 500 runners in 2012, were given the honour of launching this year’s event.

Oliver Snodgrass (10), his brother, Thomas (12), and Joshua Grahame (12) celebrated after being presented with a trophy to mark the 2013 competition, which will be held at Holyrood Park on May 25.
