Penicuik firm's way to mark jubilee

STAFF at a Penicuik engineering firm are preparing for a white-knuckle ride of the rapids to mark the firm's golden anniversary.

Findlay Irvine celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and will be supporting Chest, Heart and Stroke Association Scotland's White Water Rafting Challenge.

The hair-raising, three-mile event, which will take place at Grandtully, Perthshire, on March 20, will involve eight members of staff.

As well as seeking sponsorship from suppliers, company employees will hold a car wash at IKEA, Loanhead, on Saturday March 13 from 10am to 1pm.
