A PATHHEAD accordion player’s band has picked up a prestigious Radio 2 folk award – for the fourth time.

Martin Green’s band Lau was among many Scottish acts nominated at the awards ceremony, held in Glasgow instead of its normal London home, but were the only ‘home’ winners with the Best Band Award.

Martin was “chuffed” to regain the award won by Lau for three consecutive years from 2008 - 2010, and spoke of the newfound exposure of the awards which were live on radio and TV.
