The Midlothian Advertiser is celebrating being named Title of the Year in the small weekly category of the Johnston Press Scotland Awards.

Editor Jo Robinson said: “This is a really great achievement and I wanted to share the good news with our readers.

“I can’t thank you enough for all the support you have given us over the past year. One of the main criteria for this award was our circulation figures, which were among the best in Scotland – and that’s down to the loyalty of our readers, who not only bought the paper but also visited our website.

“I’d also like the thank all of you for your contributions to the paper. Your stories, letters, photos and feedback all help make the paper what it is – your paper.

“In the coming weeks we’ll have some exciting news about our plans for the Advertiser.

“Not only will it have a new look, we also want to make it bigger and better than ever. To do this properly, we’d love to hear your views about what you’d like to see in the paper.”

As winner of the Scottish award, the Advertiser will now go through to the national Johnston Press Group Awards.
