Sign for improvement

Councillor Bryan Pottinger (Lab) is hopeful of funding to re-establish a once prominent street sign in Newtongrange.

He wants the ‘Edinburgh’ sign on Dalhousie Road to be renovated after work is finished on the ‘white gates’ close by, a job held up by the recent bad weather.

Councillor Pottinger told last week’s Newtongrange Community Council meeting: “We are trying to see if we can get an extension on funding to get the Edinburgh sign spruced-up.

“It’s an important local landmark and it would be good to have it fully restored for everyone to see.”
