Special thanks from family of Gorebridge heart op baby Nathan McCormack
The family of a baby boy, who was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition, have said "thank you" to a charity which helped them through their fraught time.
Six months ago, Nathan McCormack, who lives with mum Julie (38), dad Peter (37) and brother Aaron (11) in Gorebridge, was diagnosed with a rare heart condition and had to have open heart surgery.
To show their appreciation to the charity the Children's Heart Federation, grandmother Kathleen organised a fancy-dress fundraiser at the Royal British Legion in Dalkeith.
The event was held on Kathleen's 60th birthday, which falls on Hallo'ween – and the witches, ghosts and ghouls who attended helped to raise 800.
Kathleen said: "The Children's Heart Federation really helped by sending me things and explaining what Nathan's problems were. I just thought they have done so much for us."
Nathan's dad, Peter, said: "We have got to hope that the surgery he had "grows" as he grows."
"We would just like to thank everyone that attended, my mother who set the whole thing up, and Jim Campbell, my mother's husband, who was fantastic."
